5 things I can’t wait to do @Dreamforce

This coming Monday, I and a few Sage Peopleers will head to San Francisco to attend Dreamforce, the crown jewel of Salesforce events and one of the largest cloud computing conferences in the world. We’re incredibly excited to be visiting the convention once again—but as for specific items I’m looking forward to…

1. Attending the Partner Keynote
Perhaps the most exciting hour and half of the entire event for us this year occurs on Tuesday with the Partner Keynote delivered by Tyler Prince, Salesforce EVP of Worldwide Alliances & Channels, who will be joined onstage by Sage CEO Stephen Kelly. The keynote will include a discussion of a groundbreaking new cloud business engine built on the Salesforce1 platform that Sage People is thrilled to be a part of—Sage Live. As Sage People is the HRIS solution for Sage Live, I’ll be ecstatic to see Prince and Kelly discuss the future of Salesforce’s partnership with Sage Live and their strategic vision for assisting SMBs manage their talent and businesses more efficiently.

2. Demoing Sage People for Sage Live in the Cloud Expo
Hot off the trails of the Partner Keynote, the Cloud Expos will open and Sage People will join Sage in their booth to demo our piece of Sage Live. This demonstration is the completion of months of work, and the Sage Live / Sage People integration will give SMBs the ability to align core HR capabilities with accounting and payroll to optimize people and operational costs of business, thus enabling more agile ability to manage teams. How exciting that 50% of the Dreamforce participants are directly impacted by this solution! It will be a busy time for us at the Sage booth.

3. Listening to Julia Hartz’s Keynote
One of the standout women in tech, having been cited by Forbes as one of the most powerful women entrepreneurs, Julia Hartz co-founded and currently acts as President of Eventbrite – a rare company in the “Unicorn Club” of startups with valuations of over $1B. There, she’s managed to create a class-act culture that’s won multiple “best places to work” awards. From her keynote, I’m hoping to build onto my own strategies and techniques for growing a great culture of success—and our business—at Sage People.

4. Visiting the Yerba Buena Gardens
Just a short jump over Howard Street from the Moscone Center are some of the prettiest public gardens around, with some of the neatest public art on display. It’ll be nice to take a good stroll with fellow Sage People colleagues and enjoy the cool San Francisco air. I’m particularly looking forward to sitting down with “Urge,” the robotic bronze sculpture by Chico McMurtrie found at the entrance to the Children’s Garden that mimics its onlookers’ motions—always such a fun, interactive experience. Expect selfies!

5. Having a great time each night
Shocking—I know. Between Dreamforce’s Foo Fighters concert, a Sage invite-only reception, and the countless wine bars featuring some of the best wines in the country, I’m definitely planning for my fair share of fun during the nights after busy days at Dreamforce. If you’re available, come join me for a drink! I’m always down for company. 😀

Wait - don't go!
