Sage People customers shine in the media spotlight
It’s been a busy year for Sage People and we’re delighted to see that it’s been equally busy for our customers, many of whom have been in the spotlight recently.

Sage People has helped to link up SDL’s global workforce spread across 40 countries, and we’ve enjoyed working to help the company transform its business and link more than 2000 employees around the world in to a single company structure.
Happy Birthday Ubuntu
We’d also like to wish our customer Canonical a very happy birthday. It’s the ten year anniversary of Ubuntu, its Linux operating system used by 25 million users worldwide.
Unbuntu has come a long way since its debut in 2004, when it was a small fish in a big pond of Linux operating systems. Since then it has gone from strength to strength, with its first mobile operating system going live earlier this year.
The system boasts a “beautiful user experience” and feedback has been great so far. Watch out Apple, you’ve got competition.
If there was one good thing to come out of the World Cup
England’s hopes may have been dashed early in Brazil, but the World Cup was good for business, most notably our customer Betfair who experienced revenue growth of a whopping 30% driven by the World Cup and continued momentum across all products.
The World Cup was a great opportunity to onboard new customers and increase engagement with existing Betfair customers, and Betfair has seen great success in its new product, Sportsbook. Well done Betfair, and we hope that our global cloud HRMS will continue to support the business well for an equally prosperous 2015.
Full steam ahead
It’s also been an exciting year for SmartStream, who implemented Sage People’s HMRS earlier this year to support its expanding global team.
The move to a cloud-based HMRS was a strategic one for the growing business, who has been expanding AsiaPac and EMEA operations and winning key deals in all major regions.
Essential support has been critical as SmartStream rolls out the latest version of its TLM® Exception Management platform, which enables banks to reduce costs between 30 to 50 per cent in the back and middle office by detecting and managing exceptions via a single interface.
