Welcoming new Chairman and Board members
Sage People today announces the strengthening of its Board, appointing two new members and its first Chairman. Mike Ettling and Steve Garnett join the Board and Adam Hale, who recently joined Sage People as a Non-Executive Director, takes up the role of Executive Chairman.
Mike Ettling joins Sage People after several high-profile roles in the HR and IT industry, most recently Chief Executive at HR solutions provider NGA Human Resources. He is currently Non-Executive Board Member at human capital services provider Impellam PLC and data management and governance provider, Backoffice Associates. Mike is one of the most successful and well-known executives in the HR industry having been recognised as the “Global Thought Leader of the Year” in 2012 by the HR Outsourcing Association. His extensive knowledge of the market and proven track record of global growth matches Sage People’s ambition.
Mike comments, “I am delighted to be joining Sage People’s board at this exciting time of rapid international growth. It is a fantastic opportunity to work with a team which has developed a world-class solution for integrated cloud-based HR software for small to mid-sized multi-nationals.”
Also joining the Board is Dr Steve Garnett, Chairman of EMEA for Salesforce.com. Steve is an icon of the European software industry having led the European business for Salesforce.com and Siebel Systems, and served on Oracle’s European leadership team. He is one of the most accomplished leaders of growth businesses. Today’s announcement formalises his years of involvement, advice and backing of Sage People.
“Sage People is a great example of a successful European software business which has reacted to market demand and tailored its products to suit the needs of its customers. The company’s use of cloud-computing and force.com provides a robust, proven and scalable platform,” says Steve.
Adam Hale, who joined the Sage People board in February of this year, will become Executive Chairman. Adam has worked with many of the leading global software organisations, helping to build and develop their leadership teams. He was Head of Software at Russell Reynolds Associates, the leading executive search firm, as well as Chairman of the Technology Leadership Group of The Prince’s Trust. Formerly, he ran large client projects at Accenture.
Adam comments, “I am delighted to spend more time with the business helping it to grow. The team has done a great job developing a very strong solution and growing the business. Sage People has the opportunity to become a very significant international firm. ”
This announcement comes after a year of success for Reading based Sage People, which saw the opening of new Global Headquarters and the launch of the Sage People HR product suite – offering the full spectrum of HR functionality as integrated modules for companies to mix and match as they require.
