How To Create Formula Fields

A Formula field is a Sage People field for which the value is calculated by a formula.

The formula can use the values of other fields, mathematical expressions, fixed values and so on to calculate a value. Formula fields can be used to make the value of a field on one object visible on another object. For example;

  • you may wish to make the Team Member Surname (which is in the Team Member object), visible on the Employment object (to use in Email Templates, etc).
  • you want to Exclude Involuntary Leavers from the Turnover Report based on Reason For Leaving field (as on Team Member record).

Please find below step by step details of how to create a formula field for this.
